Body Tricep Press
How to perform
- 01Position a bar in a rack at chest height.
- 02Standing, take a shoulder width grip on the bar and step a yard or two back, feet together and arms extended so that you are leaning on the bar. This will be your starting position.
- 03Begin by flexing the elbow, lowering yourself towards the bar.
- 04Pause, and then reverse the motion by extending the elbows.
- 05Progress from bodyweight by adding chains over your shoulders.
Form cues
- Drive through the full range — do not cut the lockout short.
- Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.
Common mistakes
- Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
- Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
