Hug A Ball
How to perform
- 01Seat yourself on the floor.
- 02Straddle an exercise ball between both legs and lower your hips down toward the floor.
- 03Hug your arms around the ball to support your body. Adjust your legs so that your feet are flat on the floor and your knees line up over your ankles. Keep a good grip on the ball so it doesn't roll away from you and send you back onto your buttocks.
Form cues
- Keep a neutral spine; stop the set if it rounds.
- Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.
Common mistakes
- Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
- Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
- Bouncing into the stretch instead of holding it.
