Landmine 180's
How to perform
- 01Position a bar into a landmine or securely anchor it in a corner. Load the bar to an appropriate weight.
- 02Raise the bar from the floor, taking it to shoulder height with both hands with your arms extended in front of you. Adopt a wide stance. This will be your starting position.
- 03Perform the movement by rotating the trunk and hips as you swing the weight all the way down to one side. Keep your arms extended throughout the exercise.
- 04Reverse the motion to swing the weight all the way to the opposite side.
- 05Continue alternating the movement until the set is complete.
Form cues
- Brace your core before the first rep and keep it braced.
- Lead with the elbows and finish by squeezing the target muscle.
- Set the bar path over mid-foot and keep it there.
- Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.
Common mistakes
- Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
- Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
- Adding weight before the movement pattern is clean.
