Linear Depth Jump

How to perform

  1. 01You will need two boxes or benches spaced a few feet away from each other. Begin by standing on one box facing towards the other platform.
  2. 02To initiate the movement, gently drop down to the ground between your platforms, allowing the knees and hips to flex.
  3. 03Reverse the motion by exploding, extending through the hips, knees, and ankles to jump onto the other platform.
  4. 04Land softly, asborbing the impact through the legs.

Form cues

  • Brace your core before the first rep and keep it braced.
  • Drive through the full range — do not cut the lockout short.
  • Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.

Common mistakes

  • Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
  • Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
  • Adding weight before the movement pattern is clean.
