Seated Calf Stretch
How to perform
- 01Sit up straight on an exercise mat.
- 02Bend one knee and put that foot on the floor to stabilize the torso.
- 03Straighten your other leg and flex your ankle.
- 04Using a band, towel, or your hand if you can reach, pull the toes toward you. Hold for 10 to 20 seconds, then switch sides.
Form cues
- Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.
Common mistakes
- Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
- Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
- Bouncing into the stretch instead of holding it.
