One Handed Hang

How to perform

  1. 01Grab onto a chinup bar with one hand, using a pronated grip. Keep your feet on the floor or a step. Allow the majority of your weight to hang from that hand, while keeping your feet on the ground. Hold for 10-20 seconds and switch sides.

Form cues

  • Control the lowering phase — that is where most of the growth stimulus lives.

Common mistakes

  • Using momentum instead of the target muscle.
  • Cutting the range of motion short to add load.
  • Bouncing into the stretch instead of holding it.
